Volks "Blind Beauty / Sorayama "
This model created from an original “Volks of Japan” model kit produced in the mid to late nineties based on “The Gynoids” artwork of Hajime Sorayama. I acquired two of these kits a few years ago, and this is the second and last of the two. The model, originally cast in two pieces was modified, creating a round, separable base. The model is from solid resin and contains excellent detail throughout. The entire model was pinned with steel rod during assembly to create a durable and sturdy piece. This is a large model done in quarter scale bringing the entire piece to just over 17” tall. The paint on this one, I did differently, using a metalic "Root Beer" brown as the primary bondage dress color. Shoes and belt in black with brass and silver accents. Base was painted with matching brown. High gloss poly was applied over the top creating an ultimate shine and sparkle! Also in ultra high gloss are the straps, fingernails and jewelry. Skin tones are very neutral in color rendering the entire piece extremely lifelike. Yes, it does look that real! The mask was painted with a brush, in an off-white color and remains lightly textured, almost appearing as if it were made of a thick canvas cloth. The base is separable from the model by using a sleeve and pin - no wobble! I added a real sterling silver bracelet to her right arm as well as a small "cross" tattoo on her right shoulder (yes, slightly controversial). This appears as an extremely "high class" version of the "Blind Beauty". Colors and final render are far beyond exceptional. Possibly, my best render yet!
