Graphitti Designs "Betty Page - WOW"

                                  Picture
This, now rendered figurine of pin-up queen, Betty Page, was sculpted by Steve Kiwus based on the original comic art of Dave Stevens.  Both Betty and Dave have now passed leaving behind this original casting which was produced by "Graphitti Designs" in 1989.  The original "Dave Stevens / Graphitti" label remains on the bottom twenty years later.  It is not often one of these actually gets painted, but I have finally chosen to do so and the piece came out exceptionally well.  The piece is painted in the color scheme originally depicted in the comic art.  Betty's skin tones in a natural pinkish peach with red satin spread.  Her black gloves highlighted with mild blue pearls added for a shimmer effect.  Her dark black hair highlighted with white pearl.  Details of the flowers in her hair, straps of her shoes and even polished toenails have all been captured and rendered.  Light blue eye shadow with dark eyelashes surrounding her metallic brown eyes.  I chose to use brown instead of typical blue to separate my model from the “standard”.  This “Wow” figurine was cast in one solid piece with no assembly required.  Original intent, I believe, was to leave the piece as an unpainted statue.  Original cast was very clean in a very light creamy peach color.  There are still a few original castings out there, but becoming very rare.  The statue measures just under 8" tall and just over 4" across at the bottom.  The piece is solid cold cast resin and of excellent quality.
