King of Hobbies "1/3 Lady Croft "

This giant scale "Lady Croft" is from "King of Hobbies" based on the character of Tomb Raider played by Angelina Jolie.  This is the largest of kits I have built to date standing at roughly  25" tall and spread at 10" across at her feet.  This was a hollow cast kit which renders it very light upon completion, but at the same time, very fragile.  The kit consisted of 10 hollow pieces which I found to be difficult to fit properly.  Most of the pieces required significant grinding and modification to fit.  In general, the kit is of good quality, but I would have liked to see a cleaner cast around the figures face and mouth.  For the most part, the large scale allows for very detailed painting and the ability to create lifelike skin tones.  The ackward placement of the hands near the face almost require the pieces to be completely painted prior to assembly.  In this case, I did just that.  I assembled everything with exception of the detailed hands with guns.  The figure and hands were then completely painted.  Once painted, the hand pieces were assembled to the body and seams were covered by application of leather wrist bands.  The leather wrist bands are made of real vinyl sheet and pinned in place representing snaps.  Vinyl sheet was also used for the tops of her stockings, also pinned in the back.  I used several shades of dark brown for the hair with typical Jolie blue/grey eyes.   The kit does not come with a base and the figure does have a good tendancy to stand on her own, but due to the size (and gravity) it does not take much to knock her over - a seperate base is recommended.
